My Arizona Desert (2) - 2008-2020 - page 1
This is my desert. Arizona is beautiful, and I'm trying to show what I see when I go for a walk. Most of these images were taken within 1 miles of my house in north Phoenix. Most of those were taken within a five minute walk. Images are in chronological order. Click on the thumbnail to see a larger version.
April 18, 2009<br>This is how all Saguaro cacti get their start.  They must grow under the shade of a Palo Verde tree for at least the first five years to be protected from the sun.  Eventually the cactus outlives the tree and stands alone.

April 18, 2009<br>He's not happy now.  Once he started rattling, he never moved, but continued to rattle for the next 20 minutes continuously.  I even walked away and then came back to get a cell phone video, and he was still going.<br>

April 23, 2009<br>Juvenile Great Horned Owls.  Every spring from 2008 to 2017 I hiked 5 minutes from my house to visit a local owl nest and see how the chicks were doing.  Lots of opportunities as I often visited more than once a week through the season.  LOTS of owl pictures.
